The Boys Basketball team improved to 15–1 on the season and won the Hendricks County Championship to open the new year. The Quakers began the tournament with a dominant 75–36 win over Avon, followed by a 74–49 victory over Brownsburg in the championship game. Head coach Coach Weaver reflected on the title run, saying, “The Boys Varsity basketball team won the Hendricks County Tournament by defeating Brownsburg in the championship game. Three Quakers scored in double figures: Noah Smith with 19 points, Harper Baker-Lands with 17 points, and Chase Swafford with 12 points. Landon Gilliatt dished out eight assists with zero turnovers.” The Quakers continued their impressive stretch with wins over ranked Carmel (50–47), Northview (67–58), and Lawrence North (65–62). In the win over Lawrence North, Noah Smith poured in 29 points while Harper Baker-Lands added 18. Senior Landon Gilliatt sealed the victory with clutch free throws down the stretch and etched his name in program history by breaking the all-time assists record with 357. The record had stood for 38 years. The Quakers will look to keep their momentum rolling as they travel to Mooresville on Friday for a Mid-State matchup. The contest is part of a boys/girls doubleheader, with the varsity boys tipping off after the girls' game, which begins at 6:00 p.m. Go Quakers!
